SOAR has expanded!
Visit our Little Free Library
Last month, with the support of the Sarasota Amazing Women's Group, SOAR Learning Center just opened its very first Little Free Library. Each month, the library will be refreshed with books donated by the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library. Neighborhood families are invited to select books from the LFL, take them home, and add them to their home library!

What a great day for the community!
We had a wonderful gathering for the dedication for SOAR’s Little Free Library on December 2, 2020! Special thanks to the AWG (Awesome Women's Group) for donating the Little Library. Thank you — Mrs. Paulk, Mrs. Campbell, David Rubin, SOAR Board Chair, three members of the AWG, Ellen McLaughlin, Judy Lyon, and Janet Pederson, and to all of the teachers and students who came out to celebrate this occasion with us! The Library is now filled with great books and is open to the community. We added signage next to the LFL with Covid 19 safety precaution and an explanation of how the Free Library works. We also attached a hand sanitizer dispenser to the base.
Erin Clay, the manager of the Betty Johnson North Public Library has graciously offered to collect books of interest for children (of all ages) and parents to donate to the Library.
AWG members — K. Zahn and Janet Pederson— will connect with the Library each month to pick up book donations and restock the Little Library as needed. We also encourage everyone to invite friends, family, or community connections to donate children's books (appropriate for grades K-3) as well, and that you gather the books together and call the SOAR Learning Center at 941-355-3700 to make arrangements to drop off. When you stop by please be sure to wear a mask and honor distancing practices.
With Appreciation,
Fayanne Hayes,
Member of the SOAR Team and AWG
